The Makita 2-1/4 HP D-handle router consists of an industrial cam-lock lever to facilitate smooth depth adjustment and motor removal. It is run by an 11 Amp motor and the variable speed dial allows the user to choose the speed from 8000 to 24,000 RPM. Electronic controller produces uniform operating speed even under heavy loads. Soft start mechanism suppresses the start-up reaction to prolong the gear life. Router conforms well with 1/2 Inch and 1/4 Inch shank bits and the ball bearing construction ensures prolonged life of the tool. Sub-base works well with industry standard template guides. Motor is made from strong aluminum and the small diameter of 3-1/4 Inch for smooth handling. Flat top design keeps the tool stable when changing or installing the bits. Trigger switch with lock-on button ensures uninterrupted operation for longer periods of time. Two identical sized wrenches can be used for installing or removing the bits. Front knob can be attached to either side of the tool to make it easy for both right and left-handed users. Calibrated depth control ring makes it easy to adjust the depth. Brushes can be accessed externally for better serviceability. Router comes with a collet with nut, collet and a wrench.
